Is it to Much to ask him?

I Have Been With my boyfriend for over a year now and i have a 2year old son, is it to much to ask him to take a day off here and there if im sick? as i dont want my son to get my sickness and it is pretty hard to look after him when i am feeling dreadful! He is Very adiment that he does not want to take time off work. Any Advice?
