Ugh are there really men out there that do this sick deed?

Are there really Reproductive Abusers? I watched an episode on one of my favorite televies shows, Law and Order, and this guy literally has 47 children with more than 40 women.. he poked holes in condoms, used verbal coercion to get them to have his children, I mean he has no remorse about it either, he is completely narcissistic and deluded. Its frightening. Is this some type of mental disorder that have these people do this? The fact that he isn't even a real father, he just beds countless women without really 'being' there. He thinks sending a check every month is acceptable.
