Screen door driving me nuts !!!!!?

We had a new screen door installed a few months ago. It makes a dreadful clangy sound when it closes. We have adjusted the cylinder but that it is not the problem. The actual locking mechanism has a very tinny sound. The manufacturer has told us that this is the only type of lock they make. What can we do? I don't feel like spending any more money buying another one from another company.
